NFL

Mailata was selected in the seventh round of the NFL Draft 2018 in position 233 by the Philadelphia Eagles . Thus Mailata is the second player in NFL history to Moritz Bohringer , who was drafted, but not previously in the United States at the College played. Another special feature of Mailata was that he hadn't played a single football game before the draft. Nonetheless, he did very well in the pre-season for the Eagles and got a place in the 53-man roster of the Philadelphia franchise. In its rookie season ( 2018 ), Mailata was not used in any regular season game by the Eagles. On December 14, 2018, he was placed on the Injured Reserve List by the Eagles due to a back injury . Mailata also struggled with back problems in preparation for the 2019 season . Since the injury persisted at Mailata, he was again put on the Injured Reserve List by the Eagles after the second week of the new season.
