Jordan James Spence (born May 24, 1990 in London ) is an English football player .
Career
society
Spence moved to West Ham United's youth division in 2004 . In April 2006 he signed a contract for the second team and made his debut that same month for the West Ham United Reserves . In November 2008 he was loaned to the third-rate club Leyton Orient . There he made his debut in the FA Cup on November 29, 2008 . This was initially his only game for Leyton Orient as he returned to West Ham United in early January 2009. However, it was agreed to extend the loan until the end of the season. On January 24, 2009 Spence played for the first time in Football League One .
In August 2009 he was awarded for a further six months to the second division promoted Scunthorpe United and finally returned to West Ham United in January 2010 . There he was appointed captain of the second team. On May 9, 2010 Spence made his debut in a 1-1 draw against Manchester City on the final day of the 2009/10 season in the Premier League when he came on for Alessandro Diamanti .
In early March 2011 Spence was loaned to the second division Bristol City for a month , and on March 5, he played against Coventry City for the first time for the Robins . Shortly before the end of the loan, it was extended until the end of the 2010/11 season. On May 4, 2011 West Ham coach Avram Grant Spence, who had quickly become an important pillar of the team in Bristol, ordered back to London to help out in the relegation battle. On May 15, 2011 Spence ran in the game against Wigan Athletic for the first time from the start for West Ham, but the 2-3 defeat sealed relegation from the Premier League. On the last day of the season he finally came to his third and, for the time being, last first division appearance for West Ham. For the 2011/12 season he was awarded again to Bristol City for a year. However, West Ham had an option to bring him back during the winter break if necessary, but this was not drawn. For the 2012/13 season he returned to the West Ham squad, but only made four league games and one FA Cup appearance during the season . In the summer of 2013, he was loaned to Sheffield Wednesday for a month and returned to West Ham on October 1, 2013, after four missions as a right defender without a win.
Only about three weeks later, Spence was awarded again. This time it went to the Milton Keynes Dons in the third rate Football League One . There he made his debut on October 26, 2013. In the 3-1 win over Colchester United on November 26, 2013 Spence scored his first goal in the professional field. In January 2014, after ten league games and two cup appearances, he briefly returned to West Ham, but then extended his loan with the Dons at the end of January until the end of the 2013/14 season.
National team
Spence played in various England junior national teams. He was the captain of the U-16, U-17 and U-18. In 2005 he won the Victory Shield with the U-16 . As captain, he led the U-17 national team to the U-17 World Cup in 2007 in South Korea . In the group match against Brazil on August 24, 2007, he scored a 2-1 win in stoppage time, securing England's place in the knockout round and England's first victory over Brazil in a FIFA tournament. The U-18 team remained undefeated under captain Spence in the 2007/08 season.
On October 14, 2007 he made his debut against Romania in the U-19 team. He took part in the U-19 European Championship in Ukraine in 2009 , where he and his team only failed in the final against the host.
On March 28, 2011, he was used in the game against Iceland for the first time in the English U-21 national team .
