Jordi Roura i Solà (born September 10, 1967 in Llagostera , Girona province ) is a former Spanish football player and current coach .

Career

Roura played from 1982 in the youth of FC Barcelona and made his debut in the 1984/85 season for the club's B-team in the Spanish Segunda División . On September 11, 1989, he played his first Primera División game for the first team in a 3-0 win against FC Elche . Due to a serious knee injury suffered at the UEFA Super Cup in 1989, however, he was denied a breakthrough as a regular player. With Barcelona he played a total of ten first division games between 1989 and 1991, winning the European Cup Winners' Cup , the Spanish championship and the Spanish Cup once each .

In 1991 he left Barça for Real Murcia . At the end of his first season with Murcia, he was relegated to the third Spanish division and Roura moved to UE Figueres . There, too, he was relegated to the third Spanish division in his first season. He then moved to UE Sant Andreu and ended his career there in 1994 at the age of almost 27.

In the late 1990s he assisted Carles Rexach with the Yokohama wings and Jordi Vinyals with FC Terrassa . From the 2007/08 season he coached the Spanish third division club CE l'Hospitalet , but was released in December 2007. The team was relegated at the end of the season. From 2009 he was in the coaching staff of FC Barcelona responsible for analyzing the opponents of FC Barcelona. Three years later he rose to become assistant coach to the new head coach Tito Vilanova . After Vilanova fell ill with parotid gland cancer in December 2012 and had an operation, he represented him until April 2013.
