Tetchi Jores Charlemagne Okore (born August 11, 1992 in Abidjan ) is a Danish - Ivorian football player .

childhood

Jores Okore was born in 1992 in the Ivorian city of Abidjan , but immigrated to Denmark with his family in early childhood and grew up in the capital Copenhagen .

Career

society

Okore started playing football in the youth of B.93 Copenhagen . Then he went to the youth of FC Nordsjælland . Although he was still part of the youth team, he was appointed to the professional squad in the second half of the 2010/11 season. On April 3, 2011, he came on shortly before half-time for the injured Michael Parkhurst and made his professional debut in the Superligaen . He then played not only during Parkhurst's downtime, but every game over the full season until the end of the season.

In his second year, it was not until the fifth match day before he made his season debut, but then he was back in the starting eleven. He scored his first goal in professional football on September 18, 2011, when he scored the 2-0 goal against Brøndby IF on matchday nine . He missed two games after a red card suspension on matchday 21. In total, he was used 25 times in the 2011/12 season and reached the Danish championship with the club. On June 13, 2013 Okore signed a four-year contract with the English Premiere League club Aston Villa .

In the summer of 2016, he moved to FC Copenhagen and celebrated the double there . For the 2017/18 season he joined league rivals Aalborg BK and immediately became a regular again.

National team

Jores Okore was in the squad of the Danish U-18 team several times, but he was not allowed to play. On September 6, 2011 played his first game for the U-21 national team of Denmark . In the 2-0 win against Northern Ireland he was substituted on for Mathias Wichmann at the beginning of the second half .

On November 6, 2011, Morten Olsen Okore nominated for the squad of the senior team . He replaces the injured Simon Kjær . Okore was called up for the games against Finland and Sweden . He came on against Sweden on November 11, 2011 in the 62nd minute for Andreas Bjelland . He played against Finland for the full 90 minutes four days later. In 2012 he was nominated two more times for international matches. Although he was not used, he was appointed to the national team for the 2012 European Football Championship at the end of May . Because Okore was not used at the EM 2012, he could have changed associations and played for his native country, Ivory Coast . Okore made his competitive debut for Denmark on June 11, 2013, when he was substituted on in a 4-0 draw against Armenia on the occasion of qualifying for the 2014 World Cup . Since that game, Okore can no longer change associations.
