Jorge Humberto Rodríguez-Novelo (born March 22, 1955 in Mérida , Yucatán state , Mexico ) is auxiliary bishop in Denver .

Life

Jorge Rodríguez-Novelo joined the order of the Legionaries of Christ in 1974 and made solemn profession on April 29, 1982 . Rodríguez-Novelo received on 24 December 1987 by the sacrament of Holy Orders . In 1994 he received his doctorate in theology from the Pontifical Gregorian University . He holds a degree in philosophy, awarded in 1984, from the same university . Furthermore, since 1987 he holds a diploma in Mariology from the Pontifical Theological Faculty “Marianum” .

From 1994 to 1999 he was Vice Rector of the Pontifical Athenaeum Regina Apostolorum , founded by the Legionaries of Christ. In 1999 he left the religious community and was incardinated in the clergy of the Archdiocese of Denver . He taught at the invitation of the Archbishop of Denver Charles Chaput from 1999 to 2002 and from 2006 at the newly established seminary of St. John Vianney, of which he was Vice Rector from 2007 to 2014.

On 25 August 2016 it appointed Pope Francis to the titular bishop of Azura and auxiliary bishop in Denver.
