José Araneta Cabantan

José Araneta Cabantan (born June 19, 1957 in Lagonglong , Misamis Oriental , Philippines ) is a Filipino Roman Catholic clergyman and Archbishop of Cagayan de Oro .

Life

Jose Araneta Cabantan received on 30 April 1990, the sacrament of the priesthood for the Archdiocese of Cagayan de Oro .

On February 18, 2010 Pope Benedict XVI appointed him . to the Bishop of Malaybalay . The Apostolic Nuncio to the Philippines, Archbishop Edward Joseph Adams , donated him episcopal ordination on April 30 of the same year ; Co- consecrators were the Archbishop of Cagayan de Oro, Antonio Ledesma SJ , and the Bishop Emeritus of Malaybalay, Honesto Chaves Pacana SJ. The inauguration took place on May 15, 2010.

Pope Francis appointed him Archbishop of Cagayan de Oro on June 23, 2020. The inauguration took place on August 28 of the same year.
