José Bonello

José Bonello OFM (born April 4, 1961 in Xagħra ) is a Maltese religious and Roman Catholic bishop of Juticalpa in Honduras .

Life

José Bonello joined the religious order of the Franciscans in and put on 28 August 1983, the solemn vows from. The Archbishop of Malta , Joseph Mercieca , ordained him on June 29, 1984 deacon and on July 7, 1985 priests .

After three years in charge of the postulants , he went to the mission to Honduras, where he was pastor in La Libertad for 21 years . On November 27, 2009 he was appointed Vicar General of the Comayagua Diocese .

Pope Benedict XVI appointed him on November 22, 2010 Coadjutor Bishop of Juticalpa .

The episcopal ordination donated him the Archbishop of Tegucigalpa , Óscar Andrés Cardinal Rodríguez Maradiaga SDB , on February 12 of the next year; Co- consecrators were Luigi Bianco , Apostolic Nuncio in Honduras , and Tomás Andrés Mauro Muldoon, OFM, Bishop of Juticalpa.

With the resignation of Tomás Andrés Mauro Muldoon OFM on February 2, 2012, he succeeded him as Bishop of Juticalpa.
