Luigi Bianco

Luigi Bianco (born March 3, 1960 in Montemagno , Asti province , Italy ) is a Roman Catholic Archbishop and diplomat of the Holy See .

Life

Luigi Bianco received the sacrament of ordination for the diocese of Casale Monferrato on March 30, 1985 . Bianco was in the subject canon law doctorate . He entered the diplomatic service of the Holy See on July 1, 1989 and initially worked in the Italian nunciature. From 1991 to 1994 he worked at the Apostolic Nunciature in Egypt, from 1994 to 1999 in Argentina, before being called to Croatia in 1999. From 2002 he worked in the nunciature of Spain and Andorra.

On January 12, 2009 Pope Benedict XVI appointed him . the titular of Falerone and it ordered the Nuncio in Honduras , thus simultaneously Doyen was of the local diplomatic corps. He was ordained bishop by Cardinal Secretary of State Tarcisio Bertone SDB on April 25 of the same year; Co- consecrators were the Bishop of Casale Monferrato, Alceste Catella , and the Bishop of Mondovì , Luciano Pacomio . After the military coup in June 2009 , Bianco tried to find a peaceful solution to the conflict.

Pope Francis appointed him Apostolic Nuncio to Ethiopia on July 12, 2014 . On September 10 of the same year he was also appointed Apostolic Nuncio in Djibouti and Apostolic Delegate in Somalia .

On February 4, 2019, Pope Francis appointed him Apostolic Nuncio in Uganda .
