Luciano Pacomio (born November 4, 1941 in Villanova Monferrato , Alessandria province , Italy ) is an Italian clergyman and emeritus Roman Catholic Bishop of Mondovì .

Life

Luciano Pacomio received on 29 June 1965, the sacrament of Holy Orders . At the Pontifical Gregorian University in Rome he earned a licentiate in the subject Catholic Theology and the Pontifical Lateran University , he became a doctor of theology doctorate . In 1971 Luciano Pacomio obtained a licentiate in biblical studies at the Pontifical Biblical Institute . In 1972 he received his doctorate in philosophy from the University of Turin .

From 1972 to 1978 Luciano Pacomio Regens was the Interdiocesan Seminary in Vercelli . In 1984 he became rector of the Almo Collegio Capranica in Rome. Pacomio also became a canon at the Patriarchal Basilica of Santa Maria Maggiore and a member of the Council of Priests of the Diocese of Rome . He was also a professor at the Pontifical Urban University .

On 3 December 1996 appointed him Pope John Paul II. To the Bishop of Mondovi . . Pope John Paul II gave him on 6 January 1997 in St. Peter's Basilica , the episcopal ordination ; Co-consecrators were the official in the Vatican State Secretariat , Archbishop of Curia Giovanni Battista Re , and the secretary of the Congregation for the Eastern Churches , Archbishop of Curia Miroslaw Marusyn . The inauguration took place on February 2, 1997.

Pope Francis accepted his age-related resignation on September 29, 2017.
