José Manuel Faraoni (born March 28, 1918 in Roldán ; † May 13, 1994 ) was an Argentine racing car driver .

Racing career

José Faraoni was mainly active in sports car racing in the 1950s . In 1953 he was Alan Brown's partner in a Cooper T25 converted into a sports car at the 1000 km race on the Nürburgring . The race, which was part of the sports car world championship in 1953 , finished the duo in sixteenth in the overall standings. His greatest international success was third overall at the 1000 km race in Buenos Aires in 1955 , which he drove together with Ricardo Grandío in the Maserati A6GCS .

His only noteworthy monoposto use was at the 1955 Grand Prix of Buenos Aires , a Formula 1 race without world championship status . In the race that Juan Manuel Fangio won ahead of Stirling Moss (both in a Mercedes-Benz W 196 ), he retired after a defect in his Maserati A6GCM .
