José Manuel Garita Herrera (born March 26, 1965 in Heredia , Costa Rica ) is Bishop of Ciudad Quesada .

Life

José Manuel Garita Herrera received the sacrament of ordination for the Archdiocese of San José de Costa Rica on November 6, 1988 through Archbishop Román Arrieta Villalobos .

Pope Francis appointed him Bishop of Ciudad Quesada on March 15, 2014 . The Archbishop of San José, José Rafael Quirós Quirós , donated him episcopal ordination on May 17th of the same year. Co- consecrators were the Bishop of Puntarenas , Oscar Gerardo Fernández Guillén , and the Archbishop Emeritus of San José, Hugo Barrantes Ureña .
