José Rafael Quirós Quirós (born May 1, 1955 in Llano Grande ) is Archbishop of San José de Costa Rica .

Life

Quirós Quirós was ordained a priest in the Archdiocese of San José de Costa Rica on March 5, 1981 and was the latter's vicar general .

On December 2, 2005, Pope Benedict XVI appointed him . to the Bishop of Limón in Costa Rica . He was ordained bishop by the Archbishop of San José de Costa Rica, Hugo Barrantes Ureña , on February 22nd, 2006. Co- consecrators were the Apostolic Nuncio in Costa Rica, Archbishop Osvaldo Padilla , and his predecessor, the Bishop of Cartago , José Francisco Ulloa Rojas .

Pope Francis appointed him Archbishop of San José de Costa Rica on July 4, 2013. The inauguration followed on August 29 of the same year.
