José María Baliña

José María Baliña (born January 8, 1959 in Buenos Aires ) is an Argentine clergyman and Roman Catholic auxiliary bishop in the Archdiocese of Buenos Aires .

Life

José María Baliña first became an agricultural engineer before entering the seminary . He was ordained a priest for the Archdiocese of Buenos Aires on November 25, 1989 .

He was active as a chaplain , pastor and dean in various parishes in pastoral care. Since 2009 he has been pastor of the parish of San Isidro Labrador and since 2013 vice-president of the ecclesiastical association of San Pedro .

Pope Francis appointed him auxiliary bishop in Buenos Aires and titular bishop of Theudalis on January 16, 2015 . The Archbishop of Buenos Aires, Mario Aurelio Cardinal Poli , ordained him episcopal on February 28 of the same year. Co- consecrators were the Bishop of San Isidro , Óscar Vicente Ojea Quintana , and the Bishop of Jujuy , César Daniel Fernández .
