Óscar Vicente Ojea Quintana (born October 15, 1946 in Buenos Aires ) is an Argentine clergyman, Roman Catholic bishop of San Isidro and chairman of the Argentine Bishops' Conference .

Life

Óscar Vicente Ojea Quintana was ordained a priest on November 25, 1972 .

Pope Benedict XVI appointed him on May 24, 2006 titular bishop of Suelli and auxiliary bishop in Buenos Aires . The Archbishop of Buenos Aires, Jorge Mario Cardinal Bergoglio SJ , donated him episcopal ordination on September 2nd of the same year; Co- consecrators were Héctor Rubén Aguer , Archbishop of La Plata , and Eduardo Vicente Mirás , Archbishop Emeritus of Rosario .

On October 7, 2009 Benedict XVI appointed him. to coadjutor bishop of San Isidro. With Alcides Jorge Pedro Casaretto's retirement on December 30, 2011, he succeeded him in the office of Bishop of San Isidro.

On November 7, 2017 he was elected chairman of the Argentine Bishops' Conference, his term of office runs until 2020. Ojea also heads Caritas Argentina.
