José María Preciado y Nieva

José María Preciado y Nieva CMF (born September 23, 1886 in Cadreita , Navarra , † August 13, 1963 ) was a Spanish clergyman and Vicar Apostolic of Darién .

Life

José María Preciado y Nieva joined the order of the Claretians and was ordained a priest on June 23, 1912 .

Pope Pius XI appointed him on February 26, 1934 Vicar Apostolic of Darién and Titular Bishop of Tegea. The Archbishop of San Antonio , Arthur Jerome Drossaerts , donated him episcopal ordination on May 31 of the same year ; Co- consecrators were Leopoldo Ruiz y Flóres , Archbishop of Morelia , and Anthony Joseph Schuler SJ , Bishop of El Paso .

On July 9, 1955, Pope Pius XII took resigned as Vicar Apostolic of Darién.
