José Pedro Pozzi

José Pedro Pozzi SDB (born July 12, 1925 in Vimercate , Italy, † November 26, 2017 in General Roca , Argentina) was an Argentine religious and Roman Catholic bishop of Alto Valle del Río Negro .

Life

José Pedro Pozzi, born in the Lombard city of Vimercate, emigrated to Argentina with his family in 1927. In 1941 he joined the order of the Salesians of Don Bosco and was ordained a priest on November 25, 1951 after completing his philosophical and theological studies .

On July 22, 1993 Pope John Paul II appointed him the first bishop of the diocese of Alto Valle del Río Negro, which was established on the same date . He was ordained episcopate on September 25th of the same year by the Bishop of Neuquén , Agustín Roberto Radrizzani SDB. Co- consecrators were the Bishop of San Justo , Jorge Arturo Meinvielle SDB, and the Bishop of Santa Rosa , Rinaldo Fidel Brédice . The inauguration in the diocese took place on October 16, 1993.

On March 19, 2003, Pope John Paul II accepted his age-related resignation.
