Jose Filipe Correira Semedo (born December 26, 1979 in Lisbon ) is a Cape Verdean football player who was born in Portugal and has been under contract with SU 1º Dezembro since August 2014 .
Career
society
Semedo started his career at FC Barreirense , but soon moved to clubs like CF Benfica and FC Odivelas in lower leagues . After playing an excellent season in 2007/08 (16 goals in 26 games), he aroused the interest of FC Rio Ave , where he also moved at the end of the season. His first game for Rio Ave FC was an instant hit. They won a 1-1 draw against Sporting Lisbon .
In January 2009 he moved to APOP Kinyras Peyias in Cyprus . The Cypriots secured several services from Portuguese players during the season . After 26 goals in 36 games between 2009 and 2010, Semedo moved to league rivals Apollon Limassol in July 2010 . A season later he moved to Enosis Neon Paralimni . But Semedo only stayed there for one season before moving to Nea Salamis Famagusta . From there he was also dismissed at the turn of the year 2012/13 and did not find a new club again until the beginning of September 2009 when he joined the Albanian first division club KF Tirana , with which he was finally under contract until the end of January 2014 and then again without a club. He then joined the Cypriot second division club Omonia Aradippou before moving to Portugal to SU 1º Dezembro for the 2014/15 season.
National team
Although Jose Semedo was born in Portugal , he still plays for his homeland Cape Verde . He made his first international match in 2008 as part of the 2010 World Cup qualification .
