José Siro González Bacallao

José Siro González Bacallao (born December 9, 1930 in Candelaria ) is a Cuban clergyman of the Roman Catholic Church and former bishop of Pinar del Río .

Life

José Bacallao was ordained a priest for the diocese of Pinar del Río on February 28, 1954 .

Pope John Paul II appointed him Bishop of Pinar del Río on March 30, 1982. The Archbishop of San Cristóbal de la Habana , Jaime Lucas Ortega y Alamino , donated him episcopal ordination on May 16 of the same year ; Co- consecrators were Pedro Claro Meurice Estiu , Archbishop of Santiago de Cuba and Fernando Ramon Prego Casal , Bishop of Cienfuegos-Santa Clara .

On December 13, 2006, Pope Benedict XVI. his age-related resignation.
