Josef English
Josef English (born January 11, 1835 in Freudenthal , † May 5, 1915 in Vienna ) was an Austrian urologist and surgeon .
Life
Joseph English, a native of Freudenthal in Silesia , devoted himself to the Matura a study of medicine at Johann von Dumreicher and Leopold of Dittel at the University of Vienna , which he in 1863 with the acquisition of the academic degree of Dr. med. completed. As a result, he was employed as an operating student at the 1st Surgical University Clinic at Dumreicher until 1865, and from 1866 to 1869 as 1st secondary physician at the surgical department of Professor von Dittel in the general hospital .
Josef Englisch, admitted to practice as a general practitioner since 1869, was appointed primary physician in the surgical department at Vienna's Rudolf Hospital in 1876 . In addition, Josef Englisch completed his habilitation in surgery at the University of Vienna, where he taught as a private lecturer from 1871 and as an associate professor from 1893. The research focus of Josef Englisch, who was accepted as an honorary member of the German Society for Surgery in 1907, was in the field of urology.
