Josef Henggeler

Josef Henggeler (born October 1, 1889 in Oberstrass , today Zurich ; † March 15, 1950 there ; entitled to live in Zurich and Unterägeri ) was a Swiss politician ( SP ).

Life

Henggeler completed an apprenticeship as a typesetter and then spent a few years traveling in Germany. Because of his unemployment, he was employed as a guard in Burghölzli in Zurich from 1915 . From 1922 to 1928 he worked as secretary of the Workers' Union in Winterthur and then until 1938 he was central secretary of the Swiss Association of Public Service Personnel .

From 1925 to 1928, Henggeler sat for the Swiss Social Democratic Party in the large municipal council of Winterthur. Then he politicized in the Zurich Cantonal Council until 1938 , which he presided over in 1937/1938. He was also President of the SP of the Canton of Zurich from 1932 to 1941. After his time in the Cantonal Council, he sat in the Zurich Government Council (1938–1950) and in the National Council (1943–1947).
