Josef Hoben

Josef Hoben (born May 27, 1954 in Unterraderach , Bodenseekreis ; † November 26, 2012 ) was a German writer and literary historian .

Hoben grew up in today's sub-community Friedrichshafen , in Unter Raderach . After his childhood in the boarding school Bischöfliches Studienheim Regina Pacis , he completed an apprenticeship as an industrial clerk. He was a regular soldier, after which he did his secondary school diploma. He then studied German and history at the University of Konstanz and graduated with a master's degree (MA). After 4 years as a research assistant, he began to write, initially narrative experiments as well as topic-related anthologies for a church publisher, then he specialized in regional literary history and founded the small publisher "de scriptum". With Walter Neumann, he published the anthology "Landmarks. Sea Marks. Texts from the Meersburg Authors' Group." The volume "He, Patron!" Was dedicated to Martin Walser's 70th birthday .

In the last years of his life he worked as a teacher at the commercial high school in Ehingen. The author was state chairman of the Association of German Writers (VS) Baden-Württemberg until 2007 . He was the head of the Uhldingen-Mühlhofen Literature Forum , a member of the Meersburger Authors' Group, the 'Allmende' forum, the Robert Walser Society, the International Bodensee Club and the Association of German Writers.
