Josef Kurtz

Josef Kurtz (born January 29, 1903 in Rentrisch ; † August 29, 1970 in Bliesransbach ) was a German farmer in Kleinblittersdorf, OT Bliesransbach (Ritthof) and a politician ( CVP , CDU ).

Life

Kurtz, who worked as a farmer, acted as chairman of the Saarland farmers' association from 1946 to 1953 . In 1946 he became President of the Chamber of Agriculture and since 1962 has been Managing Director of the Agriculture-Industry Liaison Office in Saarbrücken .

Kurtz joined the CVP after World War II . From 1953 to 1957 he was first deputy chairman, from 1957 to 1959 then chairman of the party. He then switched to the CDU. Kurtz was a member of the Saarland Constitutional Commission , which drafted the Saarland constitution. From 1947 to 1955 he was a member of the Saarland state parliament and there since 1952 chairman of the CVP parliamentary group. From December 23, 1952 to July 17, 1954, he served as Parliamentary State Secretary for Food, Agriculture and State Farms in the Saarland Ministry of Economics , headed by Franz Ruland . In this function he was a member of the state government led by Prime Minister Johannes Hoffmann . He was also a full member of the Economic Committee and the Committee on Displaced Persons and an alternate member of the Committee on Food, Agriculture and Forestry. He was a member of the German Bundestag from October 12, 1964, when he replaced the late MP Franz Ruland, until 1965.
