Josef Lewinsky
Josef Lewinsky (born September 12, 1839 in Proßnitz , † September 15, 1924 in Berlin ) was an Austrian writer , music and theater critic.
Life
After a broken apprenticeship as a businessman , he first turned to acting. He made his debut at the Carltheater in Vienna .
After a vocal training he undertook tours through Germany and settled in Berlin down. Here he became a singer in the Royal Cathedral Choir in 1869 and taught singing. At the same time Lewinsky wrote concert and theater reviews , a. a. for the Berliner Morgenpost . From 1878 to 1920 he worked for Ullstein Verlag .
