Josef Malinský
Josef Malinský (also Maličký, Malinsky ) (born March 14, 1752 in Brnian , † July 9, 1827 in Prague ) was a Bohemian sculptor and carver.
Malinsky is one of the sculptors of empirical classicism . He spent his apprenticeship with the sculptor Antonín Wytkup in Leitmeritz , then worked as a wood and ivory carver. His first statues were influenced by the tradition of the 18th century, the subsequent works by Viennese academism .
He admired ancient ideals and used them as models for some grave statues, for example at the Church of the Blessed Virgin Mary in Old Bunzlau , as well as in Chotoviny , in Prague's Olšany cemetery or in Český Krumlov .
