Josef Zizler

Schönau School in Mannheim

Josef Zizler (* 19th March 1881 in Zwiesel , † 24. October 1955 in Mannheim ) was a German architect , Assistant Secretary and chief architect of the municipal building administration in Mannheim.

Life

From 1917 Zizler was the city planner for building construction in Neukölln (since 1920 part of " Greater Berlin "), in 1921 he was appointed head of the building construction department in Mannheim.

On October 17, 1940, Fritz Todt gave him the first instructions for the construction of bunkers in Mannheim as part of the “ immediate Führer program ”.

He wrote books about his buildings and projects.

He was married to Eta Zizler. His daughter Zenta became a sculptor.
