The St. Josef Chapel is a Roman Catholic chapel in Mittelrode , a district of Fulda in the Fulda district in Hesse .
It is a branch church of St. Markus in Haimbach and is part of the Fulda deanery in the Fulda diocese .
Geographical location
The under monument protection standing chapel building is located in the town center in the middle Roder Straße 6 far from the state road L 3139 after Oberrode.
history
The old parish for Mittelrode was the nearby Haimbach since the time of the Fulda monastery . In 1720, during the reign of the Fulda prince Abbot Konstantin von Buttlar (1714–1726) and the Haimbach pastor Johann Adam Breun (1716–1723), the chapel was built and consecrated to St. Joseph . The patronage is celebrated in the Catholic Church on March 19th.
The chapel is assigned to the mother parish with the parish church of St. Markus in Haimbach and belongs to the subsidiary community of St. Hubertus, which includes the villages of Oberrode and Niederrode. Regular weekly church services take place in St. Josef Oberrode. The last renovation took place in 2002.
