Joseph Đỗ Mạnh Hùng

Joseph Đỗ Mạnh Hùng , born as Giuse Đỗ Mạnh Hùng (born September 15, 1957 in Saigon , South Vietnam ) is a Vietnamese clergyman and Roman Catholic bishop of Phan Thiết .

Life

His name combines western naming tradition ( Joseph as first name before the family name Đỗ Mạnh ) with Vietnamese ( Hùng as a personal name is behind the family name).

Joseph Đỗ Mạnh Hùng received on 30 August 1990 from the archbishop of Ho Chi Minh City , Paul Nguyên Van Binh , the sacrament of Holy Orders .

On 25 June 2016 it appointed Pope Francis to the titular bishop of Liberalia and auxiliary bishop in Ho Chi Minh City. The Archbishop of Ho Chi Minh City, Paul Bùi Van Ðoc , donated him episcopal ordination on August 4th of the same year ; Co- consecrators were the bishop of Đà Lạt , Antoine Vu Huy Chuong , and the bishop of Phan Thiết , Joseph Vu Duy Thông .

On December 3, 2019, Pope Francis appointed him Bishop of Phan Thiết. The inauguration took place on December 12 of the same year.
