Joseph A. Valentine

Joseph A. Valentine (born July 24, 1900 in New York City , New York , † May 18, 1949 in Los Angeles , California ) was an American cameraman of Italian origin.

Life

Joseph A. Valentine, born Giuseppe Valentino, came to film in the early 1920s after training in photography. From 1924 he worked as head cameraman and mostly engaged in B-films . In the last few years before his death, he was responsible for the photography of three Hitchcock films as well as those for Joan of Arc , for which he received the Oscar for best camera .
