Joseph Anton Schmid

Joseph Anton Schmid (born March 19, 1827 in Heideck , † March 9, 1881 in Munich ) was a Catholic clergyman, professor and member of the Reichstag .

He was ordained a priest in 1851 , in 1852 he became a lecturer and in 1853 professor of exegesis and the Hebrew language at the Lyceum in Eichstätt . 1858 pastor in Schrobenhausen , 1867 canon in Bamberg . In 1868 he became a professor of dogmatics at the local Lyceum.

From 1863 until his death he was a member of the Bavarian State Parliament , from 1871 on he was a regular advisor for the budget of the Ministry of Culture. From 1871 to 1877 he was a member of the German Reichstag for the constituency of Upper Bavaria 3 ( Aichach ) for the center .
