Joseph Brockmann

Joseph Brockmann (born November 24, 1890 in Beverungen , † December 24, 1975 in Paderborn ) was a German Roman Catholic priest .

Life

Brockmann put 1911 on school Theodorianum in Paderborn the High School from. He studied Catholic theology in Paderborn, Freiburg (Switzerland) and Munich. He was ordained priest on April 14, 1916 in Paderborn.

He was first vicar in Langendreer , then until 1923 prefect of the Konvikt , a boarding school for students from the Marianum high school in Warburg . From 1924 to 1939 he was President of the Archbishop's College of Boys in Paderborn. In 1942 he went to Brakel as a pastor . In 1947, the Paderborn Metropolitan Chapter elected him to succeed Paul Simon as his successor in the office of Provost . In addition, from 1947 he headed the school department of the Vicariate General . Brockmann made great contributions in the post-war period in the rescue of art treasures and in the reconstruction of Paderborn Cathedral . He resigned in 1971. His grave is in the chapter cemetery in the cloister of the cathedral.

Brockmann had been a member of the Catholic student association KDStV Teutonia Friborg since 1912.
