Joseph Croitoru (* 1960 in Haifa ) is a German historian , freelance journalist and author .

Life

Croitoru studied history, art history and Jewish studies in Jerusalem and Freiburg im Breisgau . He was named Dr. with a study of the history of the suicide bombing. phil. PhD. As a freelance journalist initially working for the Israeli press, he has been writing for German-language newspapers since 1992, mainly the features section of the Frankfurter Allgemeine Zeitung and the Neue Zürcher Zeitung . In 2003, Croitoru published the widely acclaimed study The Martyrs as a Weapon. The historical roots of the suicide bombing .
