Joseph Canon
Joseph Kanon (born 1946 in Pennsylvania , USA ) is an American author.
biography
Kanon studied at Harvard University in Cambridge (Massachusetts) and Trinity College in Cambridge . As a student, he published his first stories in The Atlantic Monthly magazine . He later served as the director of Houghton Mifflin and EP Dutton publishers in New York for years before turning to writing in 1995. His first novel, The Days Before Los Alamos , became a bestseller and in 1998 received the Edgar Allan Poe Award for best novel debut. This was followed by other novels such as The Lost Spy , In the Ruins of Berlin andCity without memory ( Hammett Prize 2006).
His books are thrillers that take place between the end of the war and around 1950. Real events such as B. the Manhattan Project or the Potsdam Conference as a backdrop for murder stories. Boston Globe and New York Times critics even compared his work to that of Graham Greene and John le Carré . His novel In the ruins of Berlin in 2006 by Steven Soderbergh with George Clooney and Cate Blanchett filmed .
Joseph Kanon is married to the literary agent Robin Straus and lives in New York.
