Joseph R. Jennings is a production designer and art director .
Life
Jennings began his film staff career in television in the early 1970s. He worked as art director on television series such as Rauchende Colts , Petrocelli and Project UFO. For his work he was nominated twice for the Primetime Emmy ; 1977 for the miniseries Roots and 1981 for the miniseries Shogun .
In 1979 he worked with Star Trek: The Film for the first time on a major Hollywood production . In 1980 he was nominated for the Oscar in the category Best Production Design together with Harold Michelson , Leon Harris , John Vallone and Linda DeScenna , but this year the award went to the dance film Behind the Spotlight . He then worked as a production designer on the sequel, Star Trek II: The Wrath of Khan and the comedy Dotterbart .
