Joseph Satoshi Fukahori

Joseph Satoshi Fukahori ( Japanese ヨ セ フ 深 堀 敏 , Yosefu Fukahori Satoshi ; born October 8, 1924 in Nagasaki , Japan ; † September 24, 2009 in Kumamoto ) was Roman Catholic bishop of Takamatsu .

Life

Joseph Satoshi Fukahori studied first in Fukuoka from 1942 , then in Montreal from 1949 and was ordained a priest on December 22, 1951 . From 1970 he was the deputy headmaster of the Catholic Taisei High School in Fukuoka. He then led two churches in Fukuoka. On July 7, 1977 he was appointed by Pope Paul VI. appointed Bishop of Takamatsu . The Archbishop of Osaka Paul Yoshigoro Cardinal Taguchi consecrated him on September 23 of the same year as bishop; Co- consecrators were Peter Seiichi Shirayanagi , Archbishop of Tokyo and Peter Saburō Hirata PSS , Bishop of Fukuoka.

On May 14, 2004, Pope John Paul II accepted his age-related resignation. He died of kidney cancer in Kumamoto on September 24, 2009 at the age of 84 .
