Joseph Schubert (musician)
Joseph Schubert (baptized December 20, 1754 in Warnsdorf ; † July 28, 1837 in Dresden ) was a German violinist , violist and composer .
life and work
Born the son of a cantor , he studied in Prague and Berlin . From 1779 to 1788 he played as a violinist at the court of Margrave Friedrich Heinrich von Brandenburg-Schwedt . He then moved to the Electoral Saxon and Royal Polish Chapel in Dresden as a violist .
Schubert was a very productive composer. He became famous for 15 masses , 17 sonatas and 49 concerts , including the Concerto for Viola and Orchestra in C major . He also created the operas
