Joseph Trân Xuân Tiéu

Joseph Trân Xuân Tiéu ( Vietnamese : Giuse Trần Xuân Tiếu ; born August 20, 1945 in Phước Dinh ) is a Vietnamese clergyman and emeritus Roman Catholic bishop of Long Xuyên .

Life

Joseph Trân Xuân Tiéu was ordained a priest on August 10, 1974 .

Pope John Paul II appointed him coadjutor bishop of Long Xuyên on June 3, 1999 . He was ordained episcopal on June 29th of the same year by the Bishop of Long Xuyên, Jean-Baptiste Bui Tuân ; Co- consecrators were Emmanuel Lê Phong Thuân , Bishop of Cần Thơ , and François Xavier Nguyên Van Sang , Bishop of Thái Bình .

With the retirement Jean-Baptiste Bui Tuan on 2 October 2003 he succeeded him as bishop of Long Xuyen.

Pope Francis accepted his early resignation on February 23, 2019.
