history

Sacred Heart Cathedral in Thái Bình

The Diocese of Thái Bình was on March 9, 1936 by Pope Pius XI. Established with the Apostolic Constitution Praecipuas inter from cessions of territory of the Apostolic Vicariate Bùi Chu as Apostolic Vicariate Thái Bình .

The Apostolic Vicariate Thái Bình was on November 24, 1960 by Pope John XXIII. raised to a diocese with the Apostolic Constitution Venerabilium Nostrorum and subordinated to the Archdiocese of Hanoi as a suffragan .
