The Roman Catholic Diocese of Phát Diệm ( Latin Dioecesis de Phat Diem , Vietnamese Giáo Phan Phát Diệm ) is in Vietnam Located Roman Catholic diocese based in Phát Diệm .

history

The diocese Phát Diệm was on April 15, 1901 by Pope Leo XIII. Established from the cession of territory by the Apostolic Vicariate Ost-Tonking as Apostolic Vicariate Coast-Tonking . On December 3, 1924, the Apostolic Vicariate Coast Tonking was renamed the Apostolic Vicariate Phát Diệm .

The Apostolic Vicariate Phát Diệm was on November 24, 1960 by Pope John XXIII. raised to a diocese with the Apostolic Constitution Venerabilium Nostrorum and subordinated to the Archdiocese of Hanoi as a suffragan .
