Joseph Zach

Joseph Zach (born January 9, 1829 in Aiterhofen , † February 11, 1898 in Regensburg ) was a Catholic clergyman and a member of the German Reichstag .

Life

Zach attended high school in Straubing and studied philosophy and theology at the Ludwig Maximilians University in Munich . He was ordained a priest on July 19, 1851, was chaplain for several years and then became city parish preacher in Amberg . Between 1863 and 1866 he was preacher at St. Emmeran and from 1866 to 1871 cathedral preacher in Regensburg. As such he received the parish of Neustadt a. D. and at the same time the function of a district school inspector for the Abensberg district . In 1874 he became a member of the district administrator of Lower Bavaria.

From 1875 to 1897 he was a member of the Bavarian Chamber of Deputies and from 1887 to 1890 of the German Reichstag for the constituency of Niederbayern 6 ( Kelheim , Rottenburg , Mallersdorf ) and the German Center Party .
