Josi Miller (formerly DJ YO-C, civic Josephine Müller) is a German hip-hop - Djane , singer and radio presenter from Berlin . She has been Trettmann's tour djane since 2017, and in 2016 she was on the turntables of the gynecologist . Josi Miller, together with the Leipzig presenter and singer Helen Fares , moderates the program "Deine Homegirls", which initially ran on Energy Sachsen and has been broadcast on the hip-hop channel by Berlin-based online radio Flux FM since autumn 2017 . In 2014 she took part in the German National Final at the Red Bull Thre3Style World Champion .

Life

Josi Miller spent her childhood and youth in Leipzig , where she also began her musical career. She learned to play the piano and guitar at an early age and was also trained in singing. She gained her first stage experience at the age of eleven as a member of a youth band, with whom she performed with Udo Lindenberg in Leipzig on "Rock against Right-Wing Violence".

In 2016 she completed a bachelor's degree in media art at the Bauhaus University in Weimar . In 2017 she moved from Leipzig to Berlin, where she has lived and worked ever since.

Career

At the age of 16, Josi Miller won her first turntables in a DJ battle and began her career as a DJ. Josi Miller found her style in hip-hop and black music , and now she also plays trap . After her first successes in the local environment, she devoted herself entirely to music. She quickly became a resident DJ in clubs in Leipzig. She later appeared in the opening act for artists such as Kid Ink , Rae Sremmurd , DJ Premier , A-Trak and Romano . National and international appearances at festivals, including Splash and Openair Frauenfeld , as well as numerous club gigs have been part of her everyday life since then.

At the German final of the international DJ competition Red Bull Thre3Style World Champion , she faced ESKEI83 in a head-to-head race and was only barely defeated. In 2016 she was a tour DJ on the motherfucker tour by gynecologist. In 2017 she accompanied Trettmann on his DIY tour. In December 2017, she appeared in the opening act of 187 street gang's Germany tour .

Josi Miller can be seen in the music video "Hengstin" by Jennifer Rostock as part of a campaign for strong women and in an episode of the ARTE web documentary "Homo Digitalis" alongside Helen Fares. With her, she has been moderating the streaming radio show "Deine Homegirls" since 2015, which first ran on Energy Sachsen and in 2017 switched to the hip-hop channel "BoomFM" from Berlin-based online radio Flux FM .

Occasionally she appears as a singer in a Leipzig acoustic band.
