Josua Höschel Schorr
Josua Höschel Schorr or Osias H. Scorr ( Hebrew יהושע השל שור; * September 18, 1818 in Brody ; † September 2, 1895 ibid) was a Galician publicist and Jewish scholar. Schorr worked as a Talmudic and Bible critic as well as a Jewish enlightener . He published the Hebrew yearbook he-Chaluz ("Vanguard", since 1852) and made contributions to the science of Judaism . Known for his radical anti-rabbinic views, he was called "the Galician Voltaire " by Raphael Kirchheim .
