Josy Holsten

Josy Holsten ; actually Josefine Pyro (born October 14, 1897 in Düsseldorf , † November 26, 1963 in Zurich ) was a Swiss actress .

Life

Josy Holsten began her stage career in 1927 at the Münchner Kammerspiele and was seen at the Stadttheater in Augsburg in the 1928/1929 season . Since 1929 she played regularly at the Schauspielhaus in Zurich. From the late 1930s she had engagements at the Bremer Schauspielhaus and later at the Deutsches Theater in The Hague . After returning to Switzerland in 1944, Josy Holsten appeared there on all major stages (including the Schauspielhaus Zürich, the Komödie Basel , the Stadttheater Luzern and the Stadttheater St. Gallen ). Occasionally in later years they also performed guest performances in Baden-Baden and Berlin ( Theater am Kurfürstendamm ).

Josy Holsten also worked in several film productions . Among them were 1939 Wie d'Warret works by Walter Lesch with Heinrich Gretler , Hans Rehmann and Emil Hegetschweiler , 1937 The model husband directed by Wolfgang Liebeneiner with Heinz Rühmann , Leny Marenbach and Hans Söhnker and Gewitterflug to Claudia by Erich Waschneck with Willy Fritsch , Karl Schönböck and Jutta Freybe .
