Juan Bautista Herrada Armijo

Juan Bautista Herrada Armijo OdeM (born May 15, 1922 in San Pedro de Melipilla ; † January 21, 2002 ) was auxiliary bishop in Antofagasta .

Life

Juan Bautista Herrada Armijo joined the religious order of Mercedarians and was ordained a priest on September 18, 1948 . Paul VI appointed him on February 26, 1976 Apostolic Administrator of Calama . The Pope appointed him prelate of Calama on March 5, 1982.

The Apostolic Nuncio in Chile , Angelo Sodano , consecrated him on April 17th of the same year as bishop ; Co- consecrators were Carlos Oviedo Cavada OdeM, Archbishop of Antofagasta, and Bernardino Piñera Carvallo , Former Bishop of Temuco .

He was appointed auxiliary bishop in Antofagasta and titular bishop of Equizetum on November 30, 1991. On July 16, 1997, John Paul II accepted his age-related resignation.
