Juan José Larrañeta Olleta OP (born March 13, 1941 in Villava-Atarrabia ) is emeritus Vicar Apostolic of Puerto Maldonado .

Life

Juan José Larrañeta Olleta joined the religious order of the Dominicans at and received on 11 April 1965, the priestly ordination . Paul VI appointed him on April 10, 1976 auxiliary bishop in Puerto Maldonado and titular bishop of Marazanae Regiae .

The apostolic nuncio in Peru , Carlo Furno , consecrated him bishop on June 20 of the same year; Co-consecrators were Javier Miguel Ariz Huarte OP, Vicar Apostolic of Iquitos, and Miguel Irízar Campos CP , Vicar Apostolic of Yurimaguas .

Pope John Paul II appointed him Vicar Apostolic of Puerto Maldonado on April 26, 1980. In 1985 he founded the San Juan María Vianney Seminary in Puerto Maldonado. He resigned from his office on February 2, 2008.
