The Apostolic Vicariate of Puerto Maldonado ( lat. : Apostolicus Vicariatus Portus Maldonadi ) is in Peru located Roman Catholic Apostolic Vicariate based in Puerto Maldonado .
history
The Apostolic Vicariate Puerto Maldonado was established on January 5, 1900 from the cession of territory by the diocese of Cuzco as the Apostolic Prefecture of San Domingo de Urubamba . In 1906 it was entrusted to the Spanish Order of the Dominicans . On July 4, 1913, the Apostolic Prefecture of San Domingo de Urubamba was raised to the Apostolic Vicariate and renamed the Apostolic Vicariate Urubamba y Madre de Dios .
On March 10, 1949, the name of the Vicariate Apostolic Urubamba y Madre de Dios was changed to Vicariate Apostolic Puerto Maldonado .
