Judith Kern (* 1968 ) is a German journalist and writer .

Judith Kern, who comes from Swabia , studied political science , German and Romance languages at the Eberhard Karls University of Tübingen . She has lived in Hamburg since 1993 , where she worked as an editor for several years .

Since 2009 she has also been active as a writer, which she says was inspired by a stay on Rügen . She has published the three historical novels The Shine of the Sea Buckthorn (2009), The Dance of the Cranes (2011) and The Sky Over the Cliffs (2013) for the publishers Droemer Knaur and Club Bertelsmann . The plot of these books, each set differently in the period between the end of the 19th century and the First World War , takes place on Rügen, Hiddensee and Jasmund .
