The Jugelbach rises in the crane lake area not far from the German-Czech border. It flows through the Lehmergrund , where it takes in the Schwefelbach from the left and later the Pechöferbach from the right , before the Jugelbach is absorbed by the Breitenbach , which forms the border with the Czech Republic and flows into the Schwarzwasser.
particularities
On July 6, 1931, the Jugelbach carried so much water through a cloudburst that several houses were carried away by the floods, resulting in human lives and major property damage.
Since the Jugelbach flows through the Lehmergrund, it is also known as the Lehmergrundbach , although Jugelbach is the older and historically correct name. There is also the Kleiner Jugelbach , which rises in Oberjugel and flows into the Pechöferbach.
On current topographical maps, the Kleine Jugelbach is referred to as Jugelbach, while the Jugelbach flowing in the Lehmergrund usually has no name.
