Jules Szymkowiak
Jules Szymkowiak (born October 1, 1995 in Heerlen ) is a Dutch automobile racing driver . He started in the European Formula 3 championship in 2014 .
Career
Szymkowiak began his motorsport career in karting in 2009 , where he remained active until 2012. In 2012, he also entered formula racing . He first took part in the Formula BMW Talent Cup , a training competition. In 2012 he won the shootout of this competition and thus received a cockpit for the 2013 season. In this he won four of seven test races. At the weekend of the finals, he reached sixth place overall.
In 2014 , Szymkowiak switched to professional formula racing and was given a cockpit in the European Formula 3 championship at Van Amersfoort Racing . While his team mate Max Verstappen was third in the championship, Szymkowiak reached 20th place overall with a sixth place as the best result. In addition, Szymkowiak started at the Zandvoort Masters . He finished in second place behind Verstappen, but was subsequently given a time penalty for causing a collision and fell back to fifth place.
