Julia Durant determined is a German crime film series on the television station Sat.1 with Sandra Borgmann in the title role of detective chief commissioner Julia Durant, which has been produced and broadcast since 2018.

It is a film adaptation of the Julia Durant crime novel series by the writer Andreas Franz .

action

At the criminal police in Frankfurt am Main, the chief inspector Julia Durant, who is known for her unconventional investigative methods, together with her team, consisting of the criminal inspectors Markus Schulz and Felix Dombrowski and forensic doctor Elif Kaymaz, investigates murders that took place in Frankfurt and the surrounding area.

All scripts are based on the literary model of the writer Andreas Franz.

production

The Sat.1 managing director Kaspar Pflüger announced in a DWDL.de interview at the beginning of February 2018 that more fictional in-house productions would be broadcast on the station in the next few years and that, among other things, new film series were being planned. In mid-May 2018, the broadcaster Sat.1 finally announced the film adaptation of the crime novel Jung, Blond, Tot (1996, Volume 1) of the Julia Durant series by the writer Andreas Franz . The actress Sandra Borgmann was cast as the title role . The film was produced by Andreas Bareiss and Sven Burgemeister by TV60 Filmproduktion GmbH under the responsible Sat.1 editor Patrick Noel Simon. It is the first film adaptation of a novel by Andreas Franz.

At the beginning of June 2019, a continuation of the series with the film adaptations of the crime novels Kaltes Blut (2003, Volume 6) and Murderous Days (2009, Volume 11) became known. This time production was carried out by Andreas Bareiss and Sabine de Mardt with Gaumont GmbH .

While the first film was shot from April 23 to May 24, 2018, the two subsequent films were shot from May 28 to July 25, 2019. The location is Frankfurt am Main and the surrounding area.

criticism

"The director of Heland (" Big Girls Don't Cry ") stages the start of the new crime series with a lot of flair and nonchalance and lets the eternal sidekick Sandra Borgmann (" Berlin, Berlin ") shine."

"However, if the other thrillers were also at the level of" Young, blond, dead "(TV60Film), German television would be a series worth seeing."
