biography

Ford took part in FIS races for the first time in December 2005 , and from January 2007 it was also at the start in the Nor-Am Cup . After her first victories in FIS races and three national junior championship titles, she was accepted into the junior squad of the US ski association in summer 2007. On December 14th, 2008 she celebrated her first Nor-Am win in the Super Combined of Panorama , which also helped her to win the discipline classification in the 2008/09 season . In total, she made it onto the podium three times this winter, bringing her to second place in the overall standings. In the 2009/10 season she did not win, but with six podium places she again reached second place in the overall standings and also won the combined standings for the second time. After the season, she rose from the junior to the C-squad.

At Junior World Championships , in which she participated from 2008 to 2010, Ford achieved her best results in the combination formed from slalom, giant slalom and downhill. In 2009 she reached fourth place. She contested her first World Cup race on November 29, 2009: In the Aspen slalom , however, she was unable to qualify for the second run. In the Nor-Am Cup in the 2010/11 season she achieved second place in the overall standings with three wins and another five podium places, as in the last two years. In addition, she won the combined classification for the third time in a row and the downhill and Super-G classification for the first time.

On January 7, 2012, Ford won their ninth World Cup race, the downhill from Bad Kleinkirchheim , with 22nd place for the first time. She was also successful in the Nor-Am Cup: In the 2011/12 season she achieved four victories (two downhill runs and Super-G), which won her the overall standings and won the downhill standings for the second time. She achieved her best World Cup result so far on December 6, 2013 with 21st place in the downhill from Lake Louise . Despite several further attempts, she has not been able to classify herself in the World Cup points since then. Nevertheless, she qualified for the 2014 Winter Olympics in Sochi , where she finished 24th in slalom. Ford competed in the World Cup for the last time in March 2015. Since then she has only competed in FIS races, national championships and Nor-Am races. In 2016/17 she was out of action for the entire season due to an injury, and returned to racing in December 2017.
